- Enough Pastry for 30cm tin
- 5 Apple
- 2 Egg
- 200 Milliliter (ml)s Milk
- Icing Sugar
- 1 tablespoon (tblsp) White Sugar
Pastry (30cm tin)
- 2 Cups Flour
- 200 Gram (g)s Butter
- 4 Tablespoon (tblsp)s Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 2 Tablespoon (tblsp)s Milk
Roll the sweet pastry to fit into a 30cm tin, place in the oven to precook it. Peel the apples, cut in half and slice thinly. Place on top of the partly cooked pastry and sprinkle with icing sugar.
Put in a moderate to hot oven for about 30 minutes or until apples are cooked.
Mix the eggs and milk well and pour in the tin to just cover the apples. Cook another 10 minutes or until the mixture set. Spray with more icing sugar.
Sweet Pastry Method
Place the flour on a bench and rub in the softened butter with your fingers by letting it fall through the air to keep it light. For the sweet pastry make a well, break the egg inside, and add the sugar and 2 tbsp of milk. Mix together gently and after awhile it will form a ball. (For the dough you may have to add some more milk if it is too dry.)
Roll the ball on your bench a few times to finish mixing all the ingredients. (Don’t roll it excessively as you may give it too much elasticity.)
Put some flour on the bench if the pastry is too sticky.
Cover with a wet towel and leave it rest for 30 minutes before using.
