Le Canal de Bourgogne by bicycle

Well, it had to happen, motorbike is too fast for me I’m converting to pushbike…just kidding. But riding the Canal de Bourgogne for a week was a real experience, the weather was good, 15 degrees is ideal temperature  for pedalling all day… The canal is about 300km long depend where you start and has about 200 locks, It was started by Henry IV in 1605  then more work done again in 1775 and completed in 1832. Don’t complaint again if it take a long time to build a freeway or a railway line in your part of the world. Enough jokes for one day enjoy the ride…

Hello Suzanne and Michel, You guys certainly aren’t letting the grass grow under your feet (though you’ve cycled passed many green fields). What charming and restful scenery. Perfect weather too. Buon proseguimento x

hello Suzanne et Michel, you are living my dream, my knees not allowing me such a pleasure. I guess the “barge” might be a better alternative. In the meantime, thanks to you, I can marvel all those idyllic places in the comfort of my living room !
Plenty material for your next book, eh!
    love from both of us.

Very pretty scenery, when we did this we had electric motor help on the pedals, very good when going against the wind, enjoy, in the mean time we are sweltering in 35 c heat, I think it is time to move to the south pole.
