Kathmandu Flight and Le Nepal Lentils Tuesday 27th of March

Tuesday the 27th of March

II knew the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was going to be interesting but I didn’t think the captain was going to read the paper while taxi-ing, but he was, his apprentice new where he was going…

We where lucky we had a seat on the left hand site near the window. In a normal flight they hand you a tower to wash your hand/face in this flight they gave us cotton wool to put in our ear…. and we certainly needed it .

All the way we flew so close to the mountain and saw Everest, it look very impressive and very far away I doubt I will make it to Everest base camp. Anyway I’m not here to be a hero I’m here to study the food. So far I’m very impressed, The French always talked about their “Le Puy” lentils but  I think “Le Nepal”lentil” are better they cook it with Turmeric and at the last minute, they fry some “Jimbu Grass” (what ever it is) and mix it with it, I like it when it is served with a type of Spinach-Bok-Choy, sautéed with very fine slices carrots and cumin.

Another very good starter is Pappadum,  it is so fine and yellow because inside is garlic turmeric cumin and good know what else, but very beautiful nothing like what we get in Indian restaurant in Australia.

We are at Namche Baazar and find some Wi-Fi I don’t know when we will find it again

Share and Enjoy
