Amer Fort in Jaipur
Our next stop was Jaipur west of Agra about 250 kms away but 5-6 hours trip on the car because of elephants and camels on the road again..The main attraction was the fort or palace of Amer, situated high on a hill about 11 k from the town of Jaipur. Amer fort was ruled by Raja Man Singh and later on by yours truly…. see below proof of it.
- A maharajah in front of his temple with his maharani
To go there we had to mount an elephant, a horse would have been easier
Even Suzanne had trouble
Once we where up there all was good then
Even the all family couldn’t believe Australians could ride an elephant, Kangaroo would have been more appropriate
The wall around the fort look like the great wall of china. I wonder who copy who?
From the fort beautiful view of the valley
Amer Fort is surrounded by water, a very impressive construction and design
water all around the fort
palace inside the fort
beautiful architecture again in the palace
Design and art work again is spectacular
You can’t go to India without charming a few snakes !!!
Jal Mahal Palace on the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, build for a wife and never been habitated. She left before…Typical probably had a better offer.
